S&P Global Buys OpenZeppelin for Expanded Onchain Security Push
S&P Global Inc. (SPGI) stock fell 0.44% to $404.95 after announcing its planned acquisition of OpenZeppelin. The deal expands S&P Global's presence across digital asset security and onchain financial infrastructure.
OpenZeppelin brings specialized smart contract expertise, with over 900 client engagements and contracts supporting more than $37 trillion in value transfers.
The acquisition adds to S&P Global's risk assessment business, which provides data, benchmarks, and institutional relationships. OpenZeppelin will continue operating as a separate business unit under its existing name.
