S&P Global Leads Investment in Kaiko as Blockchain Trading Demands Rise
S&P Global has led an investment in digital-asset data provider Kaiko, as progress toward round-the-clock trading on blockchain rails sparks demand for new infrastructure. The investment extends Kaiko's latest funding round to $110 million, according to the company.
The group of large financial firms that invested in Kaiko includes DRW Holdings LLC, Susquehanna, and Royal Bank of Canada, among others. S&P Global led the investment, with Nasdaq, BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc., Canton Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, and Stellar also participating.
The investment highlights growing demand for infrastructure that supports 24/7 trading on blockchain rails, which is expected to increase as markets become increasingly global and interconnected. As a result, digital-asset data providers like Kaiko are likely to play an important role in supporting this growth.
