S&P Global Snaps Up OpenZeppelin for Crypto Security Boost
S&P Global has agreed to acquire OpenZeppelin, a smart contract security firm that provides services for decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and traditional financial institutions.
OpenZeppelin's open-source code library is used by more than $37 trillion in transferred value, with the vast majority of the largest stablecoins and tokenized funds built on its OpenZeppelin Contracts library.
The acquisition will see OpenZeppelin operate as a standalone business unit under S&P Global, potentially improving security, trust, and integration for stablecoins, tokenized funds, and other token ecosystems.
