Sam Altman-Backed World Network Scores $52.5M to Tackle AI Deepfakes
World Network, backed by Sam Altman, has secured $52.5 million in fresh funding to combat online AI deepfakes.
The funding round was led by Pantera Capital alongside Bain Capital Crypto and Eightco Holdings through a locked token sale to strategic investors.
The capital injection will be used to integrate identity technology across enterprise platforms and AI agents, expanding the digital verification infrastructure of the protocol.
World Network previously raised $135 million in its first funding round last May, with its current market capitalization standing at just over $1.3 billion.
Cosmo Jiang, Pantera Capital General Partner, stated that 'the need for Proof of Human is becoming acutely clear' due to AI development acceleration, citing enterprise traction as evidence.
