Samsung Adds Stablecoin Support to Mobile Payment Platform

Share

Samsung has announced plans to add stablecoin support to its Samsung Wallet mobile payment platform, expanding beyond payments and rewards.

The company's product manager, Lee Dinham, said that Samsung Wallet will support stablecoins as part of its next phase of development, combining payments, rewards, and digital assets within a single mobile experience.

Samsung has been steadily adding blockchain services to its mobile ecosystem, including a partnership with Coinbase in October 2025 that allowed Galaxy users in the United States to buy cryptocurrencies directly through Samsung Wallet.

The company's latest move builds on existing crypto initiatives and investments tied to South Korea's digital asset market. However, it has remained selective about external stablecoin initiatives, distancing itself from Open Standard's proposed OUSD stablecoin consortium after being listed as one of more than 140 founding partners.
