Samsung Electronics Unveils Historic $80 Billion Shareholder Payout Plan
Samsung Electronics' stock surged 3.87% to ₩281,500 on Friday after the company announced an unprecedented shareholder payout strategy worth up to $80 billion by 2026.
The plan could total 110 trillion won, which would be the largest investor return framework ever disclosed by a South Korean corporation.
Samsung aims to distribute around 30 trillion won in third-quarter cash dividends as part of its standard quarterly allocation under its established investor return policy.
This move comes after SK Hynix's commitment to execute a 40 trillion won stock buyback initiative, which has amplified investor expectations for Samsung to distribute its expanding cash stockpile.
