Samsung Integrates Stablecoins into Wallet App

Samsung has announced that it will include stablecoins in its Samsung Wallet app, making it one of the first major mobile brands to support dollar-pegged digital currencies natively on smartphones. The announcement was made at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 on July 22.

The move would allow users to hold and manage USDC balances directly within the wallet app, with send, receive, and top-up functions available. However, Samsung did not confirm partnerships with any stablecoin issuers.

Although Samsung's global Galaxy install base is around a billion devices, the company has not disclosed a timeline or regional rollout plan for the feature. Stablecoin regulation differs sharply across its markets, making a simultaneous global switch-on implausible.

The launch of the Galaxy Card in the US with Barclays and Visa alongside the announcement suggests that Samsung may target this market first. The card offers 5% cashback on certain purchases in Samsung's own stores, as well as other perks.
