Samsung Profit Surge Steadies Semiconductor Stocks, Crypto Markets Stabilize
Crypto markets showed signs of stabilization on Thursday as semiconductor stocks steadied after Samsung's profit surge. The electronics giant reported a 250-fold increase in chip profit due to AI memory shortages, which had been driving market volatility for two weeks.
Bitcoin and ether remained flat at $64,100 and $1,905 respectively, while XRP, solana, BNB, and TRON saw little change. However, the weekly picture reveals a deeper correction, with most major tokens down 3-8% over seven sessions.
The relative stability in crypto markets stands out against the backdrop of equity turmoil. Bitcoin has held its ground despite significant drops in US megacap technology and Korea's record two-day decline, suggesting that thinning liquidity may be at play rather than a response to equities.
