Samsung Taps Stablecoin Power with USDC Demo

Samsung has revealed plans to integrate stablecoins into its Samsung Wallet app, a move that could bring cryptocurrency to the masses. The company showed a demo of USDC on screen during Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, but no launch date or market rollout has been confirmed.

The crypto industry has long sought a mainstream on-ramp, but convincing ordinary people to open new apps and trust unfamiliar products has proven difficult. Samsung's approach is to put stablecoins inside the wallet app that already holds payment cards, boarding passes, and IDs.

Circle got a valuable signal from the demo, as its USDC was shown alongside other features in the Wallet app. While Samsung hasn't announced an exclusive deal with Circle, the company has significant distribution power, having shipped 241.2 million smartphones in 2025 alone.
