A Russian stablecoin called A7A5 has been found on two major cryptocurrency platforms despite being sanctioned by the EU and US. The token, worth over $100 billion in transactions since its launch in 2025, is used for international settlements, including within Russia's shadow fleet.

Pages promoting A7A5 appeared on Binance and LCX, a regulated European exchange. These pages instructed users on how to buy the token, even displaying prices and purchase buttons. However, both companies claimed that the content was automatically generated and not intentionally written by their employees.

Binance removed additional references to A7A5 after being questioned by UNITED24 Media, while LCX's pages disappeared without explanation. The case highlights a gap between the appearance of regulation in the cryptocurrency industry and its actual ability to control infrastructure.
