The Sandbox has admitted to containing a bridge exploit that allowed unbacked SAND tokens to be minted on both Base and BSC.

The issue was discovered by The Sandbox, which confirmed that an unknown attacker had successfully exploited the bridge to create new SAND tokens without any backing or validation.

This means that the newly created SAND tokens are essentially worthless, as they do not have any underlying value or utility within the Sandbox ecosystem.
