Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin Holdings Soar by $15 Billion Amid Price Rally
Bitcoin's recent price surge has had an unexpected effect on Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin stash. The pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin is believed to hold around 1.096 million BTC across approximately 22,000 addresses mapped by Arkham Intelligence.
The current value of these holdings is estimated to be $85.82 billion at Bitcoin's current price of $78,280, a significant increase from the earlier figure of $71 billion before the price rise.
Bitcoin's price has risen nearly 22% in the last seven days, reaching a high of $81,265 on Tuesday after dipping to a low of $62,679 on August 17. This rally has also seen the awakening of long-dormant Bitcoin wallets, some dating back to Satoshi Nakamoto's active period.
One such wallet, containing 40 BTC that was untouched since its initial receipt in May 2012, recently moved. At the time of transfer, the coins were worth approximately $3.14 million, representing a realized profit of around $3.16 million, a staggering 1,535,911% gain.
