Share

Saudi Arabia has withdrawn from mBridge, a China-led blockchain-based digital currency platform designed for cross-border payments.

The country completed its planned trial of the platform in May 2025 before leaving the project. According to Coin Bureau and the Financial Times (FT), Saudi Arabia's participation in mBridge ended after the country finished testing the system.

mBridge is a platform that allows participating central banks to conduct cross-border payments using digital versions of their national currencies, reducing reliance on established dollar-based payment routes.
