Saylor Advocates Adoption Over CLARITY Act
Michael Saylor, co-founder and former CEO of Strategy, which holds the largest corporate position in Bitcoin, believes that instead of relying on the failed CLARITY Act to provide clarity for the US crypto industry, the sector should focus on building products that lower costs, expand access, and give customers greater control over their assets.
In a recent statement, Saylor outlined an alternative path, arguing that widespread adoption could ultimately provide stronger protection for digital assets than a compromised piece of legislation. He emphasized that adoption raises the political cost of reversal, making it more difficult for policymakers to reverse course once millions of Americans have benefited from various crypto financial products.
Saylor is pushing for the industry to refocus on scaling products using existing regulatory openings before pursuing narrower legislation where additional congressional authority is required. This approach contrasts with the broader industry response to CLARITY's major setback, as the bill was widely viewed as a way to provide lasting certainty over how crypto assets are classified and which agencies oversee them.
