Saylor Bridges Bitcoin to Stablecoin in Strategy's Digital Finance Stack
Michael Saylor, Strategy's chairman and a long-time Bitcoin maximalist, has introduced an unexpected compromise with the fiat world. He unveiled a Digital Finance Stack concept where USDT stablecoin serves as the primary transactional gateway for the first time.
The framework distributes assets across the monetary spectrum, from volatile Bitcoin on one end to stable fiat payment instruments on the other. Within this model, Bitcoin is designated as 'heavy' digital capital and the ultimate defensive asset. To address its limited transactional utility, Strategy has integrated Tether's USDT into the system.
USDT, with zero volatility, aims to meet market demand for fast, everyday payments. The company developed new structured financial-engineering products, including STRC, a semi-stable, fixed-income credit instrument represented by Bitcoin-backed preferred stock, and SR-strcUSX, a hybrid token combining fiat currency stability with debt-market yields.
The top layer of this system is Digital Equity, connecting all levels to a single business. This allows fintech companies to earn revenue by managing payment and credit instruments while investors can purchase equity for a share of earnings.
