Saylor Calls for 'Bill of Digital Rights' to Protect Crypto Freedoms
Michael Saylor has proposed a 'bill of digital rights' to protect the freedoms of cryptocurrency users. He believes this would cover creation, ownership, transfer, and use of digital assets.
Saylor wants lighter token-issuance rules, allowing startups to raise capital more easily, and greater freedom for stablecoin issuers and banks to hold and lend against Bitcoin.
He criticizes the CLARITY bill, which he thinks leans too heavily on restrictions. Saylor prefers regulators taking a leading role in shaping crypto policy over the next two years.
Saylor also wants reporting thresholds raised and tied to inflation, currently at $10,000 since 1972, and reusable identity checks for investors.
