Saylor Calls for Digital Rights Framework to Unlock AI Potential
Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy and executive chairman of the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder, has proposed a 'bill of digital rights' to help build prosperity in the future economy. According to an essay posted on X by Saylor, this age of digital assets and intelligence needs better money and capital markets to realize its potential.
The five fundamental rights that Saylor believes should be established for digital assets include: (1) the freedom to create new digital assets; (2) the right to issue them to the market to finance business and productivity; (3) the right to hold or choose a custodian; (4) the right to transfer them among people, companies, wallets, and service providers; and (5) the right to use them for spending, investing, earning income, and borrowing against digital assets.
These rights should apply to both individuals and companies, Saylor argued. He emphasized that an asset's value depends on what its owner can do with it, and restricting its usefulness restricts its economic potential.
