Saylor Calls for Digital Rights Framework to Unlock Capital Access
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy and co-founder of the firm, has proposed a 'bill of digital rights' to expand capital access in an era driven by automation. The framework outlines five core freedoms for both individuals and companies: creating new digital assets, issuing them to markets to finance productive activity, holding or choosing custodians, transferring assets across users and service providers, and using them for various purposes.
Saylor argues that restricting what owners can do with their digital assets undermines their economic value. According to him, an asset's value depends on its owner's ability to use it.
The proposal aims to enable '10 million new companies' to raise capital and bridge the gap between technological opportunity and real-world investment. Saylor believes that modernized rails for money and funding could shorten the time between innovation and investment.
