Saylor Calls for Digital Token Fundraising Rules Amid AI-Driven Business Shift
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), a company focused on Bitcoin, has proposed that digital tokens play a larger role in fundraising as artificial intelligence changes how businesses are structured.
In an essay, Saylor argued that AI will enable individuals and companies to produce more goods, services, and software than before. However, this surge in productive capacity will only translate into shared prosperity if capital formation becomes faster, cheaper, and more widely available.
Saylor believes that traditional fundraising remains too costly, slow, and legally dense for most entrepreneurs. He thinks digital tokens can compress these frictions by allowing issuers to reach investors directly and at lower expense.
The executive chairman set an ambitious target: policy should make it realistic for 10 million new companies to raise capital through digital tokens, rather than concentrating public-market access among a few thousand seasoned issuers. This expansion depends on clearer issuance rules that define practical pathways for bringing tokens to market.
