Saylor Calls for Regulatory Reforms to Boost Digital Economy Growth
Bitcoin advocate Michael Saylor has issued a new statement regarding recent developments in the digital economy. According to Saylor, Bitcoin should be more broadly integrated into banking and insurance systems.
In an article, Saylor proposed a comprehensive policy framework for the digital economy. He argued that artificial intelligence will significantly increase productivity, and that the digital asset era needs a 'digital rights declaration'. Saylor stated that individuals and companies should have five fundamental rights regarding the creation, issuance, holding, transfer, and use of digital assets.
Saylor suggested simplifying rules regarding digital asset issuance to lower costs for companies. He believes this could help approximately 10 million new companies access capital. He also called for a clear regulatory path allowing banks, fintech companies, and technology platforms to issue digital dollar products.
Saylor described Bitcoin as 'digital capital' and argued that banks should be allowed to offer Bitcoin custody services and provide Bitcoin-backed loans. He believes regulations should differentiate between client-based custody services, Bitcoin-backed loans, and banks' own Bitcoin positions.
