Saylor Clarifies Bitcoin Stance Amid Market Volatility
Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor has clarified his stance on Bitcoin, stating that his personal holdings remain untouched despite recent market fluctuations. In a recent post, Saylor emphasized that when he says 'never sell your Bitcoin,' he is speaking as one investor to another and not as the representative of Strategy. He pointed out that while Strategy may buy or sell BTC to manage capital, the company's conviction in Bitcoin remains unchanged.
Saylor's clarification comes amid a continued cryptocurrency market selloff that has shaken the conviction of many investors. However, he maintained that his personal investment stance is separate from Strategy's corporate responsibilities. To illustrate this point, Saylor mentioned that not one Satoshi of his personal Bitcoin holdings have been sold.
This clarification also relates to Strategy's recent authorization of a BTC monetization program under which the company may sell BTC from time to time to fund its USD Reserve and cover expenses. In June, Strategy announced that it had raised $104.73 million through the sale of 1,638 Bitcoin and an additional $290.6 million through the sale of common stock.
Cryptocurrency critic Peter Schiff responded to Saylor's clarification, stating that while he agrees with Saylor's claim, 'you knew the impression you were creating, and you never bothered to clarify it.'
