Saylor Clarifies Personal Bitcoin Holdings Amid Strategy's Sale
Strategy's Bitcoin holdings have taken center stage after the company disclosed it sold 1,638 BTC last week for approximately $104.7 million.
The sale reduced Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 842,138 BTC as of early August and occurred at an average price of roughly $63,957 per coin, below the firm's overall cost basis, resulting in a realized loss on those specific coins.
Strategy's executive chairman Michael Saylor clarified his personal Bitcoin holdings, stating that he has never sold any of his personal BTC, emphasizing that Strategy is a public company and not his personal wallet.
'When I say 'Never Sell Your Bitcoin,' I speak as one saver to another. I have never sold mine. Not one satoshi,' Saylor wrote on X. He added that the company's shared conviction in Bitcoin remains unchanged, despite adjusting its balance sheet.
