Saylor Fires Back at Calacanis: Bitcoin Is Digital Capital
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR), responded to venture capitalist Jason Calacanis's critique that Bitcoin has become a technology whose cultural moment has passed.
Calacanis argued that, at 17 years old and with a market value of $1.6 trillion, Bitcoin is no longer exciting or useful for payments and smart contracts.
He also claimed it's lost the public's imagination and now draws wistful 'remember that?' comments when mentioned at social events.
Saylor countered by saying that Bitcoin has become a $1.6 trillion success and the world's most valuable digital asset, calling it 'digital capital' and arguing it's suited to preserving wealth across generations due to its conservative architecture.
