Saylor Highlights Diverse Risk Profiles of Bitcoin-Based Investments
Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy, highlighted the distinct risk-and-return profiles of Bitcoin-related investment products in a recent post on X. He noted that Bitcoin (BTC) serves as the foundation for digital capital, enabling the creation of diverse financial instruments like MSTR and STRC.
According to Saylor, Bitcoin’s 30-day volatility stood at 39%, aligning with Nvidia and below Meta’s 47% and Tesla’s 43%. In contrast, Strategy’s common stock MSTR exhibited a significantly higher volatility of 94%, the highest among the compared assets. STRC, the preferred stock, had a much lower volatility of 9%, outperforming tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon.
Saylor emphasized that Bitcoin can cater to different investment objectives. BTC represents direct ownership, MSTR offers amplified price exposure, and STRC provides yield with relatively low volatility. He stated that digital capital underpins digital equity and digital credit, allowing for the development of products tailored to various investment strategies.
The post, shared on October 5, underscored the versatility of Bitcoin as a base for investment products with varying risk profiles. Saylor’s insights provided a clear framework for understanding how Bitcoin can be leveraged to meet different investor needs.
