Saylor Predicts Bitcoin Market Cap Could Reach $120 Trillion
Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor has predicted that Bitcoin's (BTC) market capitalization could reach $120 trillion, representing a 40-fold increase from its current valuation. According to Saylor, this would occur if Bitcoin captures 10% of the global asset pool, which he estimates is worth between $1,000 trillion and $1,200 trillion.
Saylor's calculation is based on the idea that Bitcoin's limited supply will attract capital from other assets, much like gold. He notes that gold has a relatively low annual supply growth rate compared to Bitcoin, making it an attractive store of value. However, Saylor's scenario assumes that global investors will mirror his company's approach to holding Bitcoin.
While Saylor's views on Bitcoin are bullish, some experts may question the assumptions underlying his $120 trillion forecast. The key unknown is the asset denominator; Saylor provides a broad estimate of global assets without defining them or offering independent verification. A different asset pool could yield a different 10% outcome.
