Saylor Proposes Digital Rights Bill for Future US Economy
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, has proposed a 'bill of digital rights' to support the growth of digital assets in the US economy. At the Bitcoin Policy Institute's Freedom Tech DC summit, he outlined five core principles: creating, issuing, custodianship, transferring, and using digital assets.
The goal is to enable 10 million new companies to raise capital through digital tokens, currently a rare occurrence due to restrictive public markets. Only about 400 out of roughly 40 million businesses in the US can access public capital markets, a hit rate of just 0.001%.
Saylor drew a contrast between his streamlined framework and the CLARITY bill, which is currently being discussed by regulators. He argued that the CLARITY legislation's 630 pages are heavy on restrictions rather than empowerment.
