Saylor Seeks 'Bill of Digital Rights' for $100 Trillion Crypto Industry
Michael Saylor has called for a 'bill of digital rights' to accompany the growth of the crypto industry. He believes that artificial intelligence will dramatically increase economic productivity and proposes a framework that prioritizes freedom over restrictions.
Saylor argues that an asset's value is determined by what its owner can do with it, not just by its existence. He wants banks to be able to custody Bitcoin (BTC) and provide loans against it under workable regulations, as well as insurers to incorporate digital assets into their balance sheets and products.
He also proposes a 'de minimis' exemption for ordinary digital-asset payments, which would remove the need for transaction-by-transaction calculations. Saylor estimates that the crypto industry could grow to $100 trillion in value if regulatory barriers are removed and clearer pathways are created.
