Saylor Sees Bitcoin Skyrocketing 30% Annually for Next 20 Years
Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy (MSTR +3.50%), remains bullish on Bitcoin despite its current price being well off from its all-time high last year. In an interview, he predicted that Bitcoin will appreciate by about 30% per year for the next 20 years, followed by a slowdown to around 20% annually.
This is significantly higher than the stock market's average return of about 10% per year. If Saylor's forecast is accurate, a $10,000 investment in Bitcoin would grow to over $1.9 million after 20 years, compared to just $67,000 if invested at an average annual return of 10%.
The massive gap between the two results is due to compound growth, which widens the difference in total returns over time. However, Saylor's prediction requires Bitcoin to grow to about $285 trillion from its current market cap of around $1.5 trillion, which is a staggering increase.
