Saylor Sees Opportunity in CLARITY Act Blockage
The US Senate has blocked the CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at providing clearer federal guidelines for digital assets. The cloture motion failed by 49 votes to 50 on September 15, effectively halting its progress.
In response, Michael Saylor has shifted his strategy from waiting for Congressional action to accelerating the adoption of digital financial products.
Saylor's plan focuses on making Bitcoin the 'digital capital,' STRC a credit dimension, MSTR tokenized stocks, and USDC payments. The goal is to offer services similar to traditional finance, including holding assets, borrowing, investing, transferring money, or trading securities.
The SEC has granted a temporary exemption for platforms to trade tokenized US stocks, but this measure will expire after five years.
