Saylor Signals Fresh Bitcoin Buy Amid Strategy's Slumping Assets
Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy, hinted at another Bitcoin purchase on X, posting the company's acquisition tracker chart. This is his usual signal that a new purchase disclosure could follow.
The move comes as Strategy's treasury sits $13 billion underwater, with its average cost per coin at around $75,646. With Bitcoin trading below $60,000, the position's unrealized loss is approximately $13 billion, according to The Block.
Strategy's market value has dropped below the value of the company's held Bitcoins, making it challenging for the firm to raise fresh capital through new share sales.
Last week, Strategy disclosed a purchase of 520 BTC worth around $35 million, its smallest recent buy. The company also added $300 million to its dollar reserve, lifting the total to $1.4 billion.
