Saylor Teases New Bitcoin Buys as Strategy Resumes Accumulations
Michael Saylor, CEO of Strategy, hinted at new Bitcoin purchases on X despite recent macroeconomic headwinds. In a tweet, he shared a graph of the company's accumulated Bitcoin over six years and wrote 'A little more orange.'
The last time Strategy made a BTC purchase was on August 31, when it bought 4,603 units for an average price of $80,318 per unit.
Since then, the firm has been on the sidelines with its Bitcoin purchases, instead focusing on repurchasing its STRC stock. The company's STRC shares have erased almost all losses from their drop to $75 and closed Friday at $98.51, just below its par price of $100.
The timing of Saylor's hint is notable, as it comes amidst a tumultuous week for Bitcoin and the industry. The US Senate voted against advancing the CLARITY Act on Tuesday, followed by the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike on Wednesday.
