Saylor Touts ChatGPT's Role in $15 Billion Bitcoin Funding Milestone
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, claims that ChatGPT helped design a Bitcoin-backed preferred stock that raised over $15 billion in funding. This innovative financial instrument was created by combining human expertise with AI-generated solutions.
Saylor explained that he turned to OpenAI's chatbot after his company held about $30 billion in Bitcoin and had become the largest issuer of convertible bonds in the world. He wanted a new way to manage this large asset base, so he asked ChatGPT for help in designing a new financial instrument.
ChatGPT suggested creating STRK, a convertible preferred stock with a variable monthly dividend rate, which helped raise $10.5 billion from one instrument and an additional $4 billion more, totaling the $15 billion Saylor credits to AI.
