Saylor Unveils Digital Economy Policy Framework with Emphasis on BTC Integration
Michael Saylor, a prominent advocate for Bitcoin and digital assets, has proposed a comprehensive framework for a digital economy policy. In his article titled 'Prescriptions for Prosperity in the Digital Economy,' he argues that artificial intelligence will significantly enhance individual and business productivity, necessitating greater freedom to create, finance, own, and trade digital assets.
Saylor proposes establishing a 'Digital Rights Bill' to grant individuals and businesses the right to create, issue, custody, transfer, and use digital assets. He also advocates for reducing the cost, complexity, and time associated with fundraising and improving capital formation efficiency through mechanisms like digital tokens.
Regarding the digital dollar, Saylor suggests allowing banks, fintech companies, and technology platforms to compete in developing digital dollar products, enabling issuers to compete on yield. He believes this will expand the global reach of the dollar by enabling businesses to develop more competitive digital dollar products.
Saylor defines Bitcoin as 'digital capital' and supports permitting banks to custody it under clear regulatory guidelines and use it as collateral for lending. He also advocates for establishing viable pathways for insurers to include digital capital on their balance sheets and in product design.
