Saylor Warns Bitcoin Buyers Must Act Before 2035 Supply Crunch
Bitcoin buyers have roughly nine years before the supply story that drives the asset is effectively finished, according to Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor.
Saylor framed the next few years as a closing window of opportunity, saying, 'I think we're in a gold rush between now and the year 2035.' At that point, 99% of all Bitcoin will have been mined, leaving only the last 1% to be released over the next century.
Currently, about 95.7% of the 21 million cap is already in circulating supply, with the network set to reach 99% around February 2035 after two halvings due in 2028 and 2032.
Saylor also made the case that crypto could grow to a $120 trillion asset class if it captures just a tenth of the estimated total wealth of $1 quadrillion to $1.2 quadrillion worldwide, with the current market capitalization at roughly $2.9 trillion.
