Saylor Warns US Risks Losing Crypto Hub Status Amid CLARITY Act Delay
The US Senate has delayed a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act, a legislative bill aimed at establishing a regulatory framework for digital assets. Market analyst BSCN reported that Michael Saylor, founder of Strategy Inc, is dissatisfied with the progress of the bill.
Saylor commented on X that Bitcoin doesn't need the bill to thrive, but rather it's America that needs the CLARITY Act. The Senate Majority Leader, John Thune, announced that the vote will take place after lawmakers return from their August recess next month.
The continued delays of the bill have raised concerns among crypto leaders, with some arguing that if the US doesn't pass the bill on time, crypto activity will move beyond US law and be powered by regulated foreign avenues. Vincent Chok, CEO of First Digital, commented that the Senate's delayed vote could give Asia (China and Singapore) more time to solidify its position as a leading crypto hub worldwide.
