Saylor's Firm Shifts $297 Million in BTC Amid Speculation
Michael Saylor's Strategy has moved a large amount of Bitcoin (BTC) worth approximately $297 million in a short period. The firm transferred 3,568 BTC over a nine-hour window, sparking concerns and speculation about whether it was selling or simply shuffling coins between wallets.
The transaction followed the purchase of 1,665 BTC, bringing Michael Saylor's Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 847,666 BTC. Additionally, the company repurchased $152 million worth of STRC preferred stock, with USD reserves standing at $6.02 billion.
Under its Digital Credit Capital Framework, Strategy plans to sell Bitcoin from time to time to fund STRC preferred stock dividends, MSTR stock buybacks, and rebuild cash reserves. However, Emmet Gallic, an analyst at Arkham Intelligence, confirmed that the latest on-chain transactions were 'neither selling nor moving.'
Gallic explained that these movements are normal within Fidelity Custody, which treats all customer BTC deposits as fungible and will move funds as needed. The address has been labeled as Fidelity by Arkham.
