Saylor's 'Go More Orange' Sparks Speculation on Strategy's Next Bitcoin Move
Strategy (MSTR.US) Chairman Michael Saylor's recent comment 'go more orange' has sparked speculation about a potential resumption of Bitcoin purchases. The company, which is known as a Bitcoin whale due to its significant holdings, had not made any new buys in the past two weeks, according to its latest regulatory filing with the SEC.
The last time Strategy announced a purchase was on August 31, when it bought 4,603 coins for $369.7 million, ending a 10-week suspension. Saylor's comment above a chart of the company's holdings is a repeated format he has used before his previous Bitcoin purchases were disclosed.
Despite the speculation, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings have remained unchanged since August, and it filed with the SEC on September 14 stating that it neither bought nor sold Bitcoin between September 8 and September 13. The company holds approximately 845,050 Bitcoins, acquired at an average price of $75,412 per coin.
The debate over a 'dead cat bounce' has also resurfaced in recent days, with investor Jason Calacanis comparing Bitcoin to CDs in the streaming era. Saylor responded by highlighting Bitcoin's growth and value as a digital asset, calling it 'digital capital.'
