Saylor's Mysterious Post Sparks Speculation Over Strategy's Bitcoin Reserves
Michael Saylor, founder and chairman of Strategy, has sparked new speculation about the company's Bitcoin reserves by reposting its BTC data. In a post that is unusual for him, Saylor stated 'We need a different color', which some market participants have interpreted as a possible move to strengthen Strategy's cash reserves rather than recently purchasing more Bitcoin.
The chart showed BTC purchases in orange, but the company has not made an official statement regarding the meaning of the post. Past posting habits indicate that most updates are published a day before any changes to the company's reserves are announced, so an official statement is expected soon.
As of July 26, Strategy holds a total of 843,775 Bitcoin, with a current value of approximately $54.63 billion and a total cost recorded as $63.83 billion. The average cost per Bitcoin is $75,653, resulting in an unrealized loss on Bitcoin investments of around 14.41% or approximately $9.20 billion.
Recent transaction data shows the company sold BTC in July after making purchases in June. On July 6th, Strategy sold 2,225 BTC at an average price of $60,773 per Bitcoin, generating around $135.22 million in sales. The company also sold 1,363 Bitcoin on June 30 at an average price of $59,256, generating approximately $80.77 million.
