Saylor's Signal Stirs Speculation: Will Strategy Buy More Bitcoin?
Strategy, a company led by Michael Saylor, has piqued investor interest with its latest signal on X (formerly Twitter). The company's Chairman posted a StrategyTracker chart and wrote 'Doing Business,' sparking speculation about an additional Bitcoin purchase. This comes after a recent sale of 1,638 Bitcoins for $105 million, which was used to fund buybacks, dividend payments, and short-term operating expenses.
The sale increased the company's cash capacity to approximately $4 billion. Strategy has not directly purchased additional cryptocurrency since June but has secured enough cash to potentially redeploy its holdings. Bitcoin's current price trend is below the company's average purchase price of $75,653 per Bitcoin.
With a total of 842,138 Bitcoins valued at $54.66 billion, Strategy holds significant losses due to market volatility. The unrealized loss amounts to about $9.05 billion, or 14.21% of its portfolio value. Despite this, the company has maintained a large-scale liquidity buffer.
Saylor's posting pattern is also noteworthy, as he has used similar charts to hint at the company's next move in the past. This time, his message is short and concise, leaving investors wondering whether it signals an intention to accumulate more Bitcoins.
