Saylor's Strategy Inc. Rides Bitcoin Price Surge with $12.9 Billion Paper Profits
Michael Saylor's Strategy Inc., which is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker MSTR, has seen significant paper profits from its Bitcoin holdings. The company has accumulated 840,447 BTC after purchasing 167,947 coins year-to-date. With the recent price surge of over 24% in the past seven days, Strategy's holdings have recorded an impressive $12.9 billion in unrealized profits.
The significant increase in Bitcoin price, which climbed by approximately $15,400 per coin, has pushed Saylor's company into profit for the first time since May 26, 2026. Notably, Strategy's Bitcoin trove was sitting on an unrealized loss of over $14.17 billion on July 1, 2026.
The company has increased its focus on building cash reserves amid the bear market turmoil in the first half of 2026. Saylor announced earlier this week that Strategy had added $150 million to its USD Reserve and repurchased $132 million of STRC, one of the company's perpetual preferred stock. This move has lifted the company's cash reserves to $4.8 billion without any Bitcoin sale or purchase.
