SBI's Dual-Rail Strategy in Focus as Circle's Arc Blockchain Launches

Share

Circle's Arc blockchain, designed for stablecoin finance, has launched its public mainnet on September 16, 2026. The platform features a dollar-denominated fee structure and an integrated stablecoin foreign-exchange engine.

SBI Group, Ripple's largest external shareholder with a roughly $4 billion stake, is one of the founding validators for Arc. This has sparked debate about SBI's allegiance to either Ripple or Arc.

However, experts argue that SBI's involvement in both platforms reflects a hedging strategy rather than a choice between them. As regulatory developments and institutional adoption continue to shape the market, it remains unclear which settlement rail will prevail.
