Scalable Token Standards Emerge as Key Infrastructure for Regulated Assets
As institutions such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan prepare to issue regulated assets on permissioned networks, scalable token standards are becoming increasingly important. These standards allow banks to enforce ownership rules, investor eligibility, and transfer restrictions without rebuilding compliance infrastructure for every product.
According to a report by FinanceFeeds, the five most scalable permissioned token standards carrying real volume and bank commitments are ERC-3643, ERC-1450, ERC-7518, Canton Network, and ERC-1400. Each of these standards has its own unique features and applications.
ERC-3643, also known as the T-REX protocol, is a mature Ethereum-based framework that provides on-chain identity claims and modular rule engines to gate every mint, transfer, and burn. It has been used for tokenizing over $32 billion in real-world assets across 180+ jurisdictions.
Canton Network, on the other hand, targets institutional-scale settlement through privacy and parallel execution, supporting tokenized bank deposits, bonds, money-market funds, and repos across multiple synchronization domains.
