Scaramucci Says Long-Term Holders Sold at $100K Threshold
Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, claims that long-term Bitcoin holders sold their assets when the price reached $100,000. Speaking at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium in Jackson Hole on August 19, he stated that those sales added to broader selling pressure and contributed to a 'self-fulfilling prophecy.'
The changing holder base reflects a broader maturation of the Bitcoin market, according to John Darsie, CEO of SALT and partner at SkyBridge. Long-term holders and early adopters are gradually selling portions of their positions, while institutions, financial advisers, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds from Singapore and the Middle East are increasing their BTC allocations.
The shift has contributed to lower volatility, which could be healthy if Bitcoin continues to develop as a store of value. Scaramucci also spoke about the growing overlap between blockchain technology and artificial intelligence.
