Schwartz Shuts Down Bagpipe Rumors: 'Move Away From the Bagpipes'
Ripple's chief architect of the XRP Ledger, David Schwartz, has once again had to dispel rumors surrounding his comments on social media. The latest incident began with a bagpipe GIF posted by Schwartz in response to an online debate.
The bagpipes are a cult symbol rooted in local folklore and have been associated with the XRP community since 2017-2018, when an anonymous insider known as Bearableguy123 (BG123) published riddles about the token rising to $589. The images depicted an astronaut on the Moon holding bagpipes.
Schwarz shut down speculation that his GIF was a signal for investors to take action, writing: 'In other words, when the pipes started playing, it often meant it was time to move... away from the bagpipes.'
Schwartz has consistently debunked popular community theories about 'magic buttons,' court-imposed travel restrictions, or secret government plans to turn XRP into a global reserve currency. He argues that investors are deceiving themselves if they invest based on such fabrications.
