SEC and CFTC Pledge to Regulate Crypto Despite Stalled Legislation

The SEC and CFTC have pledged to regulate crypto using existing authority after the Clarity Act stalled in the Senate.

Crypto Chairmen Paul Atkins and Michael Selig said they will act decisively within their statutory authority to deliver certainty for investors and entrepreneurs.

JPMorgan analysts noted that agency rules can be repealed by later administrations or challenged in court, making them less durable than legislative statutes.
