SEC and CFTC Will Write Crypto Rules Despite CLARITY Act Failure
Former CFTC Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo stated that despite the Senate's failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, federal financial regulators are still poised to write regulatory frameworks for the crypto industry.
Giancarlo, also known as 'CryptoDad', made this statement in an interview with Eleanor Terrett of the Crypto in America podcast on September 16, 2026.
The CLARITY Act aimed to divide federal oversight of digital assets between the SEC and CFTC. However, it failed to advance after a 49-50 Senate cloture vote.
