SEC Approves 3x Leveraged ETPs for Cboe BZX Listing
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved a proposal from Cboe BZX to list and trade six 3x leveraged exchange-traded products (ETPs) tied to Bitcoin, Ether, and major commodities.
The ETPs will offer 3x leveraged exposure to the underlying assets, meaning their value will move three times as much as the underlying asset's price change.
The products cover Bitcoin, Ether, gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas, and the approval was made under the Securities Act of 1933.
Eric Balchunas, a Bloomberg ETF analyst, described the SEC decision as a 'major win for Volatility Shares,' the issuer associated with the products.
