SEC Chair Optimistic as CLARITY Act Advances Through Congress
SEC Chair Paul Atkins has expressed optimism that Congress will pass the CLARITY Act, which aims to create clearer digital asset rules. The landmark crypto bill has already passed the House and is now moving through the Senate.
Atkins stated that he is committed to supporting Congress in advancing the legislation, including providing technical assistance. He emphasized that American leadership in digital finance requires a regulatory system that matches the pace of innovation from companies building new financial technologies.
The SEC chairman added that if congressional action does not move forward, the agency is prepared to develop related rules addressing similar market structure issues. Atkins pointed out that the CLARITY Act has the potential to create a durable regulatory foundation and future-proof crypto regulations.
