SEC Charges Four Entities with $15.3M Crypto Scam Through WhatsApp Groups
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has charged four entities with allegedly taking over $15.3 million from investors through two fake trading and AI bot programs.
Cryptoaiml Ltd. and Cryptoaiml Capital Foundation, along with TSAI Pro Ltd. and TSAI Capital Foundation, were accused of misappropriating more than $12.5 million and $2.8 million respectively.
According to the SEC, Cryptoaiml built trust in WhatsApp groups by impersonating investment professionals and sharing supposed AI-generated trading signals from August 2024 through March 2025.
The entities allegedly displayed fictitious trading profits to investors, claimed their accounts were frozen when withdrawal fees were demanded, and promoted nonexistent AI bots that promised guaranteed profits and recruitment rewards.
