SEC Clears Path for Triple-Leveraged Bitcoin ETPs
Bitcoin traded near $85,000 on Sunday as investors reacted to a new regulatory development in the US. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cleared the way for Cboe BZX to list six triple-leveraged exchange-traded products from Volatility Shares, which will provide three times the daily performance of Bitcoin.
The decision was made on Friday, but shares are not yet available for trading as registration requirements must still be completed. This development comes after the SEC proposed changes to crypto custody rules this week, which had a significant impact on markets.
Meanwhile, signs of growing industry activity emerged with 1,241 cryptocurrency job openings recorded in September, up from 382 in July. Finance was the largest category, followed by engineering and trading, with Bitcoin being the most frequently requested blockchain expertise.
